She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Akers and Elizabeth Akers; and her brother Bud Ballard. She is survived by: her daughter Angela Whitney Borders (Roger Doss) of River, Kentucky; her grandson Elijah Brennan Doss; her sister Deane Bishop of Florida; and her sister-in-law Annie Ballard of North Carolina.
