He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Carter and Ethel Hayes Carter; his wife Dorothy Carter; his siblings, Edith DeWeese, Beatrice, Noble Carter, Floyd Carter and Emmett Carter; and his grandson Christopher Alan.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Campbell of West Paducah, KY and Paul Carter of Paducah, KY; his sister Shelby Gross of West Paducah, KY; his grandchildren, Scott Alan Campbell (Milo) and Stacey Kay Hayden (John); and his great grandchildren, Crew Hudson Campbell and Sailor Cohen Tynes.
