He was predeceased by: his parents, Alois Niles Schoening and Alice Snowden Schoening; and his brothers, Niles Craig Schoening and Jon Alois Schoening (Mary). He is survived by: his wife Katharine Nugent Schoening (Mops); his daughter Katharine Schoening (Kate); his sister Ellen Schoening; and his grandchildren, John Harris Whyte Morrison, Katharine Nugent Morrison, Margaret Evans Morrison, Richard Stanley Griffith IV, Charles Crutchfield Griffith and George McMakin Griffith. He is also survived by six grandchildren and many grandnieces and nephews.
