With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shavanda M Allen of Louisville, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her father James L. Allen; her sons, DeMontae McGowan and DeQuantae McGowan-Allen; her brother Lamar Allen; and her stepbrother Jamie Collins.
She is survived by: her mother Georgia Russell Allen of Paris, KY; her son DeAnthony Allen; her grandchildren, Marzavier Allen, Mar'Ryan Allen, Kailianna Allen, Zalynn Allen, Graceson Obie-Allen, Nahaliel Allen and A'Havah Allen; her aunts, Wanda Taylor (Vincent), Mary Dale, Mary Jane Beach and Alma Clark; and her godmother Carol Gilkey. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Shorter Chapel AME Church (116 Chaplin St, Paris, KY 40361). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
