He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Bartsch and Norma Bartsch. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Helmbrecht Bassett-Bartsch; his sons, Kevin L. Bassett (Jennifer), Robert J. Bartsch (Veronica), Arnold F. Coates, Michael L. Coates (Linda) and Charles "Chuck" E. Coates; his siblings, Paul W. Bartsch, Denise A. Decker (Joe), Karen L. Preston (Kenny), Laura L. Garvin (Ernie), Carla J. Ramsier (Jack) and Lawrence E. Bartsch (Cindy); and his godchild Morgan M. Simpson. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the American Heart Association to be made in his honor.
