It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard L. Sturgeon of Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carnel Sturgeon and Nellie Bogard; and his siblings, Elizabeth Ann Sturgeon and Larry Sturgeon. He is survived by: his wife Rita K. Sturgeon; and his children, Alan Chadwell (Jamie), Timmy Chadwell (Honey), Stephanie Moore (Cole), Dale Sturgeon, Caven Sturgeon and Melissa Sturgeon.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Dr, Mt Washington, KY 40047). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Dr, Mt Washington, KY 40047). A burial will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at the Pennsylvania Run Cemetery (8405 Pennsylvania Run Rd, Louisville, KY 40228).
