He was predeceased by: his parents, Verna Marie and Henry A. Schmitt; and his siblings, Henry Andree Schmitt, Louis Charles Schmitt and Rosanna McCann Buckley (Frank).
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Lee Determann; his brother Francis Joseph Schmitt (Ann); and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schmitt and Judy Schmitt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ratterman's (3711 Lexington Rd, Louisville, KY 40207). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (6500 St Bernadette Ave, Prospect, KY 40059).
