He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank Smith and Mildred Ostermeier Smith; and his son Tyler Anson Smith. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Bertrand Smith; his sons, Gabe Smith (Katie) and Adam Smith (Allyson); his grandchildren, Gabriel, Katelyn, Charlotte, Elijah Smith (Gabe), Hannah and Violet Smith (Adam); his cousin Judith Wessling; his brother-in-law Les Bertrand (Mary); his nephew Brandon Bertrand Stauffer; and also, Katherine Wessling, Jenni Forsman and Carolyn Wessling.
