He is survived by: his son Michael Shawnell Mitchell Jr.; his grandson Michael S. Mitchell III; his fiancée Bonnie Stinnett; his stepsons, Robert Cummins (Hallie), Jacob Brown (Gracie) and Kamari Childress; his grandchildren, Kaliana and Kyler Cummins; his siblings, Donnie Mitchell Steve Mitchell (Janice Mitchell), Dwight Mitchell, Earlene Shelby Carolyn (Derrick Shelby) and Marion Mitchell; his nephew Jemal Johnson; and his cousin Yolonda Sanders (Ricky Sanders). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons (951 S Preston St, Louisville, KY 40203). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
