With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Wessel (Louisville, Kentucky), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Stegner and Florence "Flossie" Schneiderhahn Stegner. She is survived by: her husband Hubert "Hub" Wessel; her children, Donna Metcalf (Grant), John (Lisa), Carol McCardwell (Mike), Bruce (Sharon) and Brian (Eliana); and her grandchildren, Shannon Derrick (Brad), Mark Metcalf (Brittany), Amber Iannazzo (Lonnie), Chris Wessel (Emily), Sean McCardwell, Megan Vissing (Tanner), Carol Taylor, Brooke Sears (Nick), Adam, Veronica and Lucas Wessel.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ratterman Southwest Funeral Home (4832 Cane Run Rd, Louisville, KY 40216). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church (4005 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216).
