It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Whitener (Louisville, Kentucky), who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert "Big Bob" Whitener; her stepson Daniel Whitener; and her parents, Joseph Carrier and Mary Louise Carrier. She is survived by: her daughters, Contance "Connie" Louise Lukat, Kimberly Ann Daily and Bobbie Jo Hollar (Anthony); her stepdaughter Brenda Whitener Miles; her grandchildren, Craig, Brittany, Brian, Joey, Samantha, Gareth and Ashley (Joey); her great grandchildren, Joey Jr., Jayden, Cheyenne, Derrick, Paityn, Patrick, Reese, Joelle, Margo, Ayla and Anya; and her friends, Judy Johnson, Mary Jo and Linda.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Legacy Funeral Center - Schoppenhorst Chapel (1832 W Market St, Louisville, KY 40203). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at the Louisville Memorial Gardens West (4400 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216).
