He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Marie (Rohe); and his parents, Amelia Carr (Fleck) and Mark Carr. He is survived by: his daughter Cathy L. Metts (John); and his grandchildren, Jena Monsma (Ben) and John A. Mark Metts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Stroke Association.
