She was predeceased by: her father William Brewer; and her sister Debbie Ballard (Billy). She is survived by: her brother Brian L. Brewer (Carol); her nephews, Jason Brewer, Kyle Brewer (Amanda) and Michael Ballard; her niece Kristina Raisch (Dan); her traveling buddy Stephanie Schaefer; and her pet Lilly.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Karen's honor to the American Diabetes Association.
