Juanita Sykes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Juanita Sykes of Louisville, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 21, 2025 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Juanita Sykes to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Franklin O. Sykes; her parents, Rev. Charles Lane, Sr. and Alma Grigsby Lane; her brothers, Charles Lane, Jr. and Arthur Lane; and her son-in-law Michael Sanders.
She is survived by: her children, Duane Savage, Schlonda Sanders, Sharon Sykes, Cedric Keith Savage, Sr. (Christy) and Aaron Sykes; and her grandchildren, TaSheka Rainey, Saletha Rainey, Kedrian Lewis, Bryan Sanders, Shannon Sanders, Cedric Savage, Jr., Joshua Sykes and JaLeah Sykes. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church (2724 W Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40212). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Her contributions to the church and the wider community extended beyond her musical talents; she was a mother and grandmother to many, guiding and nurturing those in need.
