He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sr. Maier and Alberta Maier; his wife Linda Caroline Maier; and his sister Norma Maier Recktenwald. He is survived by: his children, David Maier (Alice), Tracey Leaman (Don), Allison Maier (Chris Howard) and Emily Schmiedeler (Todd); and his grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Lilly, Emma, Caroline, Joey, Ava, Abby and Olivia. He is also survived by his extended family and many friends who were touched by his sincerity.
The military honors was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Michael Cemetery (1300 Ellison Ave, Louisville, KY 40204).
