With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Cleveland Dawson Jr. in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 11, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Joseph Cleveland may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joseph Cleveland touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice E. Perala Dawson; his son Joseph John Dawson; and his son-in-law Kenneth Bray. He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Vincent (Mike) and Amy Bray. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ratterman & Sons Chapel - Jeffersontown (10600 Taylorsville Rd, Jeffersontown, KY 40299). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at the Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery (2089 Versailles Rd, Lexington, KY 40504).
