He was predeceased by: his sons, Erick Lamont and Michael Andrew Kalfus; and his sister Alverna McCallie. He is survived by: his wife June Stewart Blair; and his children, James Lawrence Kalfus, Jr., Jonathan Derick Maye-Cates (Laurie), Rickie Brooks, Tonette Moore, Ruby Moore and Charry Horace.
