She was predeceased by: her daughter Jackie Sowell; her grandchildren, Marcellus Sowell Sr., Jasmine Cross and Jaylen Davis; her parents, Ola B. Darby and Anderson Sowell Sr.; and her brothers, Bobby Joe Sowell, Reginald Sowell, Travis Sowell and Anderson Sowell Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Charles Forbes; her children, Alicia Pilgrim, Charles Cross Jr. (Mattie), Denise Osborne (Dennis), Charlotta Cross (Abdul), Torrey Cross and Timothy Cross (Mesha); and her siblings, Susie Malone and Ricky Sowell (Shauvon). She is also survived by great-grandchildren family and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Greater Salem Baptist Church (1009 W Chestnut St, Louisville, KY 40203). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
