He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Sandefur and Sally Sandefur Sr.; his wife Gladys "Mickey" Sandefur; his children, Christy Lynn Sandefur and John Sandefur; and his siblings, Louise Martin, Madeline Preston and J. T. Sandefur.
He is survived by: his children, Tommy Sandefur (Mylissa) and Tracy Raque (Andrew); and his grandchildren, Christy M. Smith (Lee), T. J. Sandefur, Dennie McCoy, Katelin Meyer (Corey), Lukas McCoy and Nikita Sandefur. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home (4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
