He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Benedict and Josephine Kaelin Oechslin; his former wife Mary Jean Oechslin; his wife Joann Hayes Oechslin; his daughter-in-law Alice Oechslin; his sister Loretta Nichter; and his brothers-in-law, Bobby Brooks and William Nichter.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Hill (Michael), Kevin Oechslin (Chris) and Lori Oechslin; his stepchildren, Vickie Hayes, Larry Hayes (Suzanne) and Rich Hayes; his grandchildren, Justin Hill (Stephanie), Brittany Meyer (Grant), Emily Oechslin (Mike Givens), Matthew Oechslin (Julie Ryan), David Blackwell (Janet), Erica Burrows (Teejay) and Amy Harris (Tyler); his stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Stuart, Sarah and John; and his siblings, Margaret Brooks, Rita Williams (Ronnie), Richard Oechslin (Brenda) and Jean Oechslin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Ascension (4600 Lynnbrook Dr, Louisville, KY 40220). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at the Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY 40205).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or WHAS Crusade for Children.
