With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Norma Speer of Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 26, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Schweitzer, Sr. and Alma Cummins; her husband Jack Speer; her son Donald "DJ" Joseph Speer; and her sister Beverly Steitz.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Walker (Ken), Edward Speer (Amy) and John Speer (Stacie); her grandchildren, Kenneth Walker II, Christopher Walker (Abby), Ronald Speer (Mia), Danielle Speer, Nicholas Speer, Jared Speer, Noah Speer and Kayla Fields; her great grandchildren, Lorionna, Finley, Liam and Clark; and her brothers, Harold Schweitzer, Lawrence Schweitzer and Anthony Schweitzer, Jr. (Drema).
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home (4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dottie's name can be made to St. Athanasius Church, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or St. Joseph Children's Home.
