He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill McNeill and Virginia Tichenor McNeill; and his brother Bill McNeill, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Nichole Miller, Jessica Lindsey (Joseph) and David S. McNeill; his grandchildren, Aaron Purvis, Angel Lindsey, Alana Steele and Paul Shrewsberry; and his sisters, Pam Durham, Mary McNeill and Shiela Marler.

The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the American Stroke Foundation.
