She is survived by: her children, Anthony Slaughter (Solita) of Louisville, KY., Byron Hayes (Nikati) of Louisville, KY. and Sheryl Hayes of Louisville, KY.; her stepchildren, Chester Rice, Jr. (Kim) of Shelbyville, KY and Mary Rice of Louisville, KY.; her siblings, Iona Hayes, Janet Gray of Louisville, KY, Barbara Hayes of Eastville, CA and William Hayes of Middletown, OH; her sister-in-law Jeanie Hayes of Shelbyville, KY.; her siblings, Pauline Thompson, Pamela Wells, Thomas Hayes and Roy Hayes; her close friends, Sally Latimer, Evelyn Stanley, Doris Curington, Stella Minor, Marilyn Hazard, Annie Bolden, Annaphine Patterson and Patricia Long; and also Larry Sykes, Jr.. She is also survived by other loving family members and dear friends.

A wake was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Clay Street Baptist Church (1940 Midland Trail, Shelbyville, KY 40065). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery N. Seventh.
