He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Spears and Gracie Spears (James). He is survived by: his sons, Tommy Spears (Wendy), Michael Spears (Amanda) and Frank Spears (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Summer, Aaron, Devin, Michael Walter, Chelsea Marie and Jacob Darvin; and his sister Zelda Lyons.
