He is survived by: his parents, Richard Dotson and Rhonda McKinzie Dotson; his daughter Amelia Dotson; his sisters, Sara Fields (Nathan) and Mary Shannon (Matthew); his niece Ashley Fields; and his nephews, Ethan Fields, Blayne Fields, Gavin Shannon and Walton Shannon.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice of Huntington or the Louisa Methodist Church in memory of Lee Dotson.
