She was predeceased by: her father Charles Roman Pennington. She is survived by: her mother Louise Gosney Pennington; her husband Robert Kenneth Simpson; her siblings, Mary Louise Pennington Mason and Charles Roman Pennington, Jr.; her daughters, Robin Simpson Smith (Thomas) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Rhonda Simpson Wilson (Jeffrey) of Spartanburg; her grandchildren, Robert Christian Smith, Hailey Wilson Barrow (Spencer), Julia Frances Wilson and Bob; and her sister-in-law Carolyn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church in Louisa.
