He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Shortridge Woods; his children, Deborah Sanders (Marc), Karynn Smith (Michael) and Michael Woods (Dejuana); and his grandchildren, Amanda Howton (Ronnie), Scott Branham (Kim), Jessica Wells (Bo Layman), Brandon Stevens (Lisa Marie), Erica Sammons (Jeff), Alyssa Woods and Michael Abraham Woods. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to the Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
