He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Hayes and Gertrude Daniels Hayes; and his wife Pauline Moore Hayes. He is survived by: his sons, Lowell Gene Hayes Jr. and Scott Hayes; his grandchildren, Ryan Hayes and Emily Danielle Hayes; and his brother Larry Hayes.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Wilson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
