He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivie Everett and Viola Margaret Thompson (Spencer); his son Jay Robert Thompson; and his siblings, Rena Thompson, David E. Thompson, Roy Thompson and Albert Francis Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Howard Thompson; his children, Martha Jablonski, Jarrell Thompson and Jason Thompson (Raquel); and his sister Rebecca McComas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
