He was predeceased by: his wife Marcia Ann Yates; his parents, Joseph Benedict and Susie Mae McCarty Yates; and his nephew Derrick Hutchins. He is survived by: his sons, Travis Thomas of Loretto, Terry Yates, Jr. (Amanda) of Gravel Switch and Bradley Yates (Shelly) of Gravel Switch; and his siblings, Ricky Yates of Campbellsville, William Yates (Carolyn) of Lebanon, Ronnie Yates of Florida, Robert Yates (Julie) of Lebanon and Sissy Yates of Lebanon. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mattingly Funeral Home (195 Holy Cross Rd, Loretto, KY 40037). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
