He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Lou Young Mattingly; his parents, James Melvin and Mary Theresa McIntyre Mattingly; and his brothers, James Carl "Chicken", Earnest and Joseph Louis Mattingly.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Brady Mattingly; his children, Norma Cissell of Louisville, Austin Mattingly (Debbie) of Bardstown and Curtis Mattingly (Kathy Harris) of Lebanon; and his siblings, Shirley Norris of Waddy, Martha Terry of Bedford, Lavada Curtsinger of Louisville, Linda Stallings of Saint Francis, Melvina Mattingly of Loretto and David Mattingly (Maxine) of Frankfort. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is limited to 50% occupancy.
