He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew J. Shepherd and Lena Shepherd (Burns); and his siblings, Darrell, Rudolph, Junior, Kenneth Shepherd and Doris Jean Morton.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Rogers (Jim) of Marrow, Matt Shepherd of Taylorsville, Larry Shepherd (Ann) of Lenoir and Tim Shepherd of Hickory; and his sister Donna Sue Reese of Florida.
