He was predeceased by: his spouse Almalea Steward (Bowling); his son Anthony Steward, Sr.; his grandson Anthony Steward, Jr.; his parents, Jim Steward and Bettie Steward (Sherman); and his siblings, Pearl Wagers, Edith Keith, Neola Johnson, Gib Steward, Dave Steward, Ovid Steward and Owen Steward.

He is survived by: his daughter Pam Lawson (Roger) of London, Kentucky; his brother Leo Steward of Fairfield, Ohio.; his grandchildren, Jeff Cline of London, Melissa Howell (Carl) of London, Ashley Owens (Jeremy) of London, Amy Whittington (Scott) of Lexington and Tia Steward of Louisville, Kentucky; and his great grandchildren, Caiden Cline, Kristin Howell, Mason Whittington, Bella Whittington, Jace Owens and Nick Steward.
