She was predeceased by: her husband Noah Carnes; her parents, Cecil Smith and Ella Smith (May); and her siblings, Della Teague, Ethal Green and Tom Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Debbie Miller of Corbin, Joseph Carnes of London, Penny Miller of South Lebanon, Margaret Ann McHan of Chatsworth, Georgia and Bob Carnes of Shelbyville, Kentucky..
