He was predeceased by: his former wife Sherre Lynn James (Smith); his son William Berniemer; his parents, Robert Lee and Ester Florence James (McQueen); and his siblings, Nina James and Ernie James.
He is survived by: his wife Imogene James (Sizemore); his children, Shaina Brandenburg (James) of London, Jonathan Logan of London and Natasha Villasenor of Richmond, Kentucky; his sisters, Charlotte Trebolo of London and Vicky Robinson of Richmond, Kentucky.; and his grandchildren, Christis Hope Brandenburg (Dylan Madden), Abigail Brooke Brandenburg, Sierra Borniemer, Mateo Villasenor, Pearl Logan and Zayne Logan.
