He is survived by: his wife Joan McCarrick Gruber; his children, Steven Gruber of Science Hill, Karen Dowdy (Jeff) of Science Hill, Mark Gruber of Saint Johns and Scott Gruber (Lisa) of Silver Springs, Florida; and his sister Mary Parks (Richard) of Torch Lake, Michigan.
