He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard B. Sparkman and Elizabeth Leuenberger Sparkman. He is survived by: his wife Opal McGee Sparkman; his son Steven F. Sparkman (Debra); his grandchildren, Mia Sparkman, Justin Sparkman of Lexington, Minami Sparkman and Kai Sparkman of Okinawa, Japan.; and his brother William "Tim" Sparkman (Jan) of London.
