He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Smith and Eva Huff Smith; his siblings, Fred Smith, Herbert Smith, Thelma Amburgey and Alma Jean Overbey; his sons, Michael Lawrence Smith and Patrick Boyd Smith; and his grandchildren, Chris Sparks and Luke Riley.

He is survived by: his friend Wildcats of Kentucky; his brothers, Earl Smith (Rosie) of London, KY and Kenneth Smith (Helen) of London, KY; his children, Patty Smith of Greenmount, KY, Rhonda Smith Riley (Dewade) of London, KY and Mark Smith (Crystal) of Corbin, KY; and his grandchildren, Stacey Lazurek, Sarah Neas, Casey Mahjub, Whitney Sawyers, Taylor Sawyers, Annika Smith, Corey Smith, Megan Johnson and Tori Riley. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
