She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Parson and Sarah Garland Parson; her husband Gaylord Sheriff; her daughter Ernestine Tackett Schneider; and her stepdaughter Mona Fondon.
She is survived by: her daughter Patricia Rice (Jesse); and her stepdaughters, Benita Maddox (William) and Candy Johnson (Larry). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
