He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorene Kelly and Alonzo Cupp; and his siblings, Dixie Sears, Ralph Cupp and V. W. Cupp.

He is survived by: his wife Joanne Cupp of London; his children, Jennifer Cupp of London, Kentucky and Jami Hammons (Bryan) of London, Kentucky; his niece Leigh Ann Sears; his great-nephew Joseph Sears of London; his siblings, Conrad Cupp of London, Fairy Smith of London, Ethal Schwartzkopf of Illinois and Sharon Sears of Indiana; and his grandchildren, James Cayden Emler, Alyssa Jo McWhorter, Brooklynn Roi Hammons and Hunter Alan Hammons.
