He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jennings Watkins and Katherine Cheek Watkins; his wife Bonnie Eva Brooks Watkins; and his siblings, Evelyn Carter, Dorothy Watkins, William Watkins Jr., Mildred Hendricks, Mary Rose Wilson and Wilma Asher.
He is survived by: his children, James Crook Watkins, Jr. (Cheryl) of Surfside Beach and Jennifer Hurston (Billy) of Myrtle Beach; his grandchildren, Virginia Olivo (Ryan) of South Lake, Texas, Tyler James Watkins of Colleyville, Texas and Jackson Hurston of Myrtle Beach; his great grandchildren, Grayson and Graham Olivo; his grandson Brooks; and his caregiver Kathy Hall.
