She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Smith and Cordia Smith; her daughters, Willa Jean Smallwood and Virginia Smallwood; her siblings, Esther Smith, Bertie Lewis (Troy Grubb), T. J. Smith and Earl Smith; and her great grandchild Darren Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Jessie Wagers; her children, Newanna Faye Jackson, Paul Edward Stewart, Howard Stewart, Darrel Lewis and Melva Moore; and her siblings, Howard Smith, Helen Smith and Rebecca Sizemore. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
