He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jimmy" Grimes and Molly Grimes (Buckles). He is survived by: his wife Ella Lee Proffitt; his son Harold Grimes Jr.; his siblings, Claude, Imogene, Ada Tyree of Greenfield, Indiana and Wanda Proffitt of Zionsville, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Bridget, Rebecca Fields and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Brittani, Collin Irvine, Taryn, Toby, Tyra Fields, Lucas and Landon Grimes.
