He was predeceased by: his parents, Major Marcum and Pearlie Wombles Marcum; his spouse Bobbie Birchfield Marcum; his siblings, Jonas Marcum, Bert Marcum, Willie Marcum, Ruby Allen, Idell Allen and Bertie Hoskins; and his granddaughter Katie Grubb.
He is survived by: his children, Catherine Abner (Fletcher) of London, Michelle Powell (Andy) of London, Elmer G. Marcum (Tabatha) of London, Sammy Marcum (Ami) of London and Lisa Sutton (Tim) of London; and his siblings, Herman Marcum, Eugene Marcum and Irene Marcum. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Bowling Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
