He is survived by: his wife Mable Smith Roy; his children, Ethan Roy, Jason Roy and Edwina Roy; his stepdaughters, Loretta Napier, Patty Jenkins, Wilma Wagers Combs and Ella Faye Dewar; his sister Shirley Roy; and his aunt Sylvia. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
