He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Carpenter and Mary Thomas Carpenter; his siblings, Thomas R. Hartford and Carolyn Deaton; and his brother-in-law Barry Deaton.
He is survived by: his children, Clifford and Melissa Carpenter; and his siblings, Debbie Kelley of Corbin and David Carpenter of Lexington.
