He was predeceased by: his parents, H. B. Smith and Susan Jane Bemis Smith. He is survived by: his children, Charles Smith, Jr. (Sydney) of London, Kentucky. and Laci Weaver (Tyler) of London, Kentucky.; his siblings, Jenny Sargent, Chrystal Tyree (Willard), Gilbert Dale Smith (Judy) and Carl Thomas Smith; and his grandchildren, Oaklynn Smith, Jaxen Weaver and Kinsley Weaver.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Charles Edward Smith FFA Scholarship fund.
