He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Belt and Elizabeth Proffitt Belt; his wife Evelyn McQueen Belt; and his siblings, Edith Fields, Randall, Homer, Jay, Harold, David and Hazel Belt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carla Thompson (Charles) of Annville and Elizabeth Reynolds of Monroe, Louisiana; his sisters, Dorothy Smith of Annville and Lorene Smith (Eudean) of Liberty, Indiana; his grandchildren, Michael Thompson (Kristy) of Tennessee and Katie Thompson (Shea O'Connell) of British Columbia, Canada; and his great grandchildren, Hazel Mae Thompson and Willow Grace Thompson.
