He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Shipwash and Bobbie Edith Jones Shipwash. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hayes Shipwash; his children, Amy Shipwash Workman of Georgetown and Jason Shipwash of Paris; his siblings, J. W. Shipwash of Maineville, Sandra Stipes of Knoxville, Cindy Warren of Shreveport and Kathy Fuentez of Houston, Texas; and his grandchildren, Zackary Workman and Carter Shipwash of Paris.
