She was predeceased by: her parents, George Bruner of Washington and Ida Benge Bruner; her spouse J. B. Phelps; and her siblings, George Henry Bruner, Vestle "Jiggs" Bruner, Nancy Holland, Wilma Grant, Dean Neubert and Polly Hensley.

She is survived by: her children, Shelia Wittenback (Bobby) of London, Kentucky, Jimmy Phelps (Deborah) of London, Kentucky, Johnny Phelps (Judy) of London, Kentucky, Doug Phelps of London, Kentucky, David Phelps of London, Kentucky, Steve Phelps (Saundra) of London, Kentucky and Sheryl Molihan (Donald) of Youngsville; her close friend RJ Bruner of London; and her sister Nell "Bo" Tomlin of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
